Looking Back: Jewish Life in Morocco

An Exhibition at the Center for Jewish History in New York City | On Display October 2010 - April 2013



This exhibition provided an overview of the presence and flourishing of Jews in the ancient and modern Kingdom of Morocco. It was presented through the implementation of artistically designed textual displays, pull quotes, non-photo images, historic photos, captions, replications of historic documents, and other visuals which portrayed the life of Jews living throughout this North African country. This exhibition, conceived, developed and curated by Shelomo Alfassa, was funded in part by the New York Council for the Humanities and the Kingdom of Morocco. Research was conducted by Shelomo Alfassa at, and, with the participation of, Yale University.
