My Special Lab Assistant
Here, my special lab assistant conducts an olfactory investigation on a piece of rock which has some seas shells in situ from an ancient shallow sea which once covered New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The rock is either Bois Blanc Limestone or earlier Onondaga Limestone from a Devonian (about 370 million years ago) era sea floor, and it is very dense and therefore heavy. I found it in a rock formation in upstate NY.
It was so long ago, yet do you think she can still smell any ancient sea creatures?
